The New York City Bar Association on Monday called for President Donald Trump’s immediate removal from office, either by impeachment or the 25th Amendment, after the deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

In a news release, the City Bar said that Trump had “betrayed his oath to the American people” by fomenting election fraud and inciting his supporters to carry out the attack. Five people were killed, including a Capitol Police officer, when angry mobs laid siege to the Capitol following a rally Jan. 6 in support of Trump.
