A onetime Brooklyn attorney was arraigned Monday on charges of real estate fraud after allegedly stealing deeds from the owners of properties in foreclosure, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.

Sanford Solny, 63, is accused of collecting more than $600,000 in rent from eight properties in Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York and Flatbush after convincing homeowners that he was negotiating a short sale on their behalf, prosecutors said.
