In a continued hearing springing from a motion filed Wednesday to hold state Chief Judge Janet DiFiore and other court system defendants in civil contempt, a Suffolk County judge decided to put off argument about contempt until Nov. 30 in the older Appellate Division justices’ high-profile suit that claims the court system’s decision to terminate them for budgetary reasons violates the law.

At the same hearing, Supreme Court Justice Paul Baisley Jr. ordered a new, expedited discovery schedule that states DiFiore must sit for a deposition in the lawsuit Dec. 2 and that Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks must be deposed Dec. 4, according to both a revised order to show cause signed by Baisley and David Scharf, a lead lawyer for the appellate justices.
