U.S. District Judge Frederic Block of the Eastern District of New York on Tuesday scheduled a hearing on the future of 11 dogs recently denied entry to the United States from Russia, allowing the dogs to remain in a kennel facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport instead of flying back to Russia Thursday as scheduled.

Block is set to hear arguments by phone Friday morning in the case, which involves six Yorkshire terriers, three Doberman pinschers, one dalmatian and one golden retriever.
