Nearly six months after the coronavirus pandemic began to impact New York City’s courts, judges and attorneys are still figuring out how to carry on with their work while maintaining public health standards.

While videoconferencing has become standard for meetings and conferences, jury trials remain a vexing issue. Attorneys with trials scheduled to begin this fall in the Eastern District of New York said they’re weighing how to represent their clients’ interest amid an ever-shifting array of safety guidelines and delays.
