Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation that narrows a sweeping legal immunity measure for hospitals and nursing homes, but still keeps the overall structure of the law intact.
Passed this spring in the midst of New York’s coronavirus crisis, the immunity law gave nursing homes and hospitals broad protections against lawsuits and extended coverage to both civil and criminal liability.
