A former lawyer pleaded not guilty to grand larceny Tuesday in a Brooklyn courtroom, just a few days after the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department granted his application to resign as an attorney.

Edmundo Roman-Perez, 70, of the Sunset Park neighborhood was supposed to hold $285,000 in escrow while he represented clients in real estate transactions in 2018 and 2019, according to a statement from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
