DLA Piper: John Coogan Jr. joins the firm’s corporate and finance practice as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity securities offerings. Previously, Coogan was a partner at Duane Morris.

Duane Morris (Philadelphia): Mark Belongia joins the firm’s trial practice as partner in the Chicago office and will focus on business and commercial litigation. Previously, Belongia was a partner Roetzel & Andress.

Dykema Gossett: Lou Chronowski joins the firm’s business and commercial litigation practice as partner in the Chicago office and will focus on franchise and dealer disputes, complex ­commercial and financial litigation. Previously, Chronowski was a partner at Seyfarth Shaw.

Goodwin Procter (Boston): Robert Puopolo joins the firm’s life-sciences practice as partner in the Boston office and will focus on corporate and related transactions in the life-sciences and technology industries. Previously, Puopolo was a partner at Greenberg Traurig.

Holland & Knight: Gregory Brown joins the firm’s corporate/mergers and acquisitions group as partner in the Chicago office and will focus on employee stock ownership plans, mergers and acquisitions, and tax controversies and litigation. Previ­ously, Brown was a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman.

Kaye Scholer (New York): Robert Claassen joins the firm’s corporate department as partner in the Palo Alto office and will focus on the technology and emerging-growth issues for corporate clients. Previously, Claassen was a partner at Paul Hastings.

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart: Rebecca Bennett joins as partner in the Cleveland office and will focus on employment law, including discrimination, noncompete and crisis management. Previously, Bennett was a partner at Frantz Ward.

Parker Ibrahim & Berg (Somerset, N.J.): Scott Rose joins the firm as partner and chairman of the firm’s complex commercial and securities litigation practice, and will focus on commercial litigation, securities litigation, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other governmental and regulatory investigations. Previously, Rose was a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

Perkins Coie (Seattle): Chris Gavin joins the firm’s financial-transactions and restructuring group as partner in the New York office and will focus on U.S. and international structured-finance transactions. Previously, Gavin was a partner at Mayer Brown.

Reed Smith: Gary Johnson joins the firm’s energy and natural resources industry group as partner in the Houston office and will focus on oil and gas transactional matters. Previously, Johnson was a partner at Burleson.

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton (Los Angeles): Michael Solomita joins the firm’s intellectual property practice group as partner in the New York office and will focus on litigation concerning patents. Previously, Solomita was a partner at Amster, Rothstein & Ebenstein.

Littler Mendelson (San Francisco): Philip Storm joins the firm’s corporate compliance and ethics, international employment law, and whistleblowing and retaliation practice groups as partner in the Chicago office and will focus on legal, ethics, and government regulatory issues. Previously, Storm was managing director of corporate investigation at Accenture.

Polsinelli (Kansas City, Mo.): Rita D’Agostino joins the firm’s real estate development/transactions practice as counsel in the Overland Park, Kan., office and will focus on leasing and development, as well as related finance, risk management, property management, construction and design issues. Previously, D’Agostino was a solo practitioner at her own firm.
