Former U.S. Department of Justice lawyer Pamela Harris was nominated Thursday for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the White House announced.

Harris, a former O’Melveny & Myers partner, is now a visiting professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and a senior advisor to the school’s Supreme Court Institute. She previously served as the principal deputy assistant attorney general of the Office of Legal Policy from 2010 to 2012.
