But that is where Lori Alvino McGill, a D.C.-based partner at Latham & Watkins, turned up on August 9, explaining the latest twists and turns of the still fast-breaking Indian adoption case of Baby Veronica, titled in the Supreme Court as Adoptive Couple v. Baby Girl. McGill likened the television experience to an oral argument: days of preparation for only a few minutes of face time.
