Haynes and Boone (Dallas): Nicholas Hoffman joins the firm’s real estate practice as of counsel to the New York office and will focus on sophisticated real estate transactions. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief legal officer at the Ruben Cos., a group of real estate investment companies.
Nixon Peabody: David Stimson joins the firm’s brands and creations practice as senior counsel to the Rochester, N.Y., office and will focus on intellectual property matters. Previously, Stimson was chief trademark counsel at East­man Kodak Co.
Arent Fox (Washington): JD Harriman joins the firm’s intellectual property practice as partner in the Los Angeles office and will focus on patent prosecution, intellectual property litigation and counseling. Previously, Harriman was a partner at DLA Piper.
Greenberg Traurig: Martin Lepelstat joins the firm’s tax and trusts and estates practices as partner in the Florham Park, N.J., office and will focus on tax, trust and estate planning for businesses and high-net-worth indi­viduals. Previously, Lepelstat was a partner at Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis.
Holland & Knight: John Sarchio joins the firm’s New York office as chairman of the insurance industry practice team and will focus on insurance industry mergers, acquisitions and financings, self-insurance and captives, and insurance regulatory matters. Previously, Sarchio was co-founder and co-head of the insurance and reinsurance practice group at Chadbourne & Parke. Additionally, Richard Liskov joins the firm’s New York office and insurance industry practice as partner and will focus on insurance regulatory, transactional and litigation matters. Previously, Liskov was special counsel to Chadbourne & Parke.
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy (New York): Stuart Morrissy joins the firm’s global securities practice as partner in New York and will focus on securities law with an emphasis on leveraged finance and high-yield transactions. Previously, Morrissy was a partner at Weil, Gotshal and Manges.
Paul Hastings: David Revcolevschi joins the firm’s corporate practice as partner in the Paris office and will focus on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. Previously, Revcolevschi was a partner at Fresh­fields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Quarles & Brady (Milwaukee): Robert Messerly and Derek Neathery join the firm’s real estate practice as partners in the Chicago office. Messerly will focus on large portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments and real estate finance. Neathery will focus on dispositions and acquisitions involving office, retail, industrial, hotel and multi-family assets. Previously, both attorneys were partners at SNR Denton.
Weil, Gotshal & Manges (New York): Paul Wessel joins the firm as partner and leader of the executive-compensation and employee-benefits practice group in the New York office and will focus on executive compensation and employee benefits for corporations and private equity firms. Previ­ously, Wessel was a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
Jones Day: Wesley Johnson Jr., a partner in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice, has been named partner-in-charge of the New York office, succeeding Willis Goldsmith. John­son focuses on cross-­border transactions. Additionally, Sheila Shadmand has been named partner-in-charge of the firm’s Dubai, United Arab Emirates, office, succeeding Arman Galledari, who has become the head of the firm’s new projects and infrastructure practice. Shadmand represents clients in complex commercial disputes.
