NOTE: This chart’s original description of the Federal Circuit’s holding in Centillion Data Systems LLC v. Qwest Communications International Inc. was incomplete. It has been corrected to state that the court reversed and remanded a holding that Qwest’s customers were not direct infringers of a system patent, finding that the customers exercised control over the system as a whole. Thus, Qwest could be subject to liability for indirect infringement.
