For the past 35 years, plaintiffs’ attorney Daniel Becnel Jr. has been sticking it to Corporate America, walloping companies with hefty verdicts and settlements for selling unsafe products to consumers. Now he wants to do the same to Toyota. But he doesn’t have settlement on the brain.

“Settlements I don’t consider big victories. It’s kind of like romancing your girlfriend. You take her on a date, out to dinner, and when you take her home, she doesn’t give you a kiss. At the end of the day, you always want that kiss,” he said. “I like verdicts.”
