LOS ANGELES — Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges laid off 10 staff members this week, according to firm partner William Urquhart.

Urquhart, in an e-mail to The National Law Journal, said that no lawyers had been laid off. He declined to comment further.

Quinn Emanuel’s revenues jumped 15% to $442 million in 2008, and profits per partner rose 11% to $3.34 million.

The Los Angeles-based firm has had some notable lateral hires in recent months. In February, James Asperger, the head of the white-collar practice group at O’Melveny & Myers, joined the firm, as did a pair of intellectual property partners, Sean Pak and David Nelson, from Latham & Watkins.
