The National Collegiate Athletic Association has been slapped with a wrongful death lawsuit accusing the organization of failing to combat debilitating, long-term dangers surrounding concussion-related injuries.

Attorneys with Raizner Slania and Edelson filed the March 18 complaint in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf of Thomas Riedy, the son of Gerald Riedy, a former Pepperdine University and California State University, Long Beach, football player who was posthumously diagnosed with Stage II Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and Lewy Body dementia.
