The Senate on Thursday confirmed Judge Sarah Merriam to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Merriam, a federal trial judge in the District of Connecticut, was confirmed in a 53-44 vote. She is the fifth judge appointed to the court by President Joe Biden, and among those with a public defender background.
