Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone, recently subpoenaed by the U.S. House select committee on the Jan. 6 insurrection, is leaning on Michael Purpura as his counsel—a lawyer from Hueston Hennigan who himself is a former adviser to U.S. presidents, including Donald Trump.

Cipollone—now a partner at Ellis George Cipollone O’Brien Annaguey—gave written testimony to the committee Wednesday, just slipping under the subpoena deadline. The committee issued the subpoena on June 29.
