Andrei Iancu is returning to practice at Irell & Manella, bringing with him three years’ perspective from leading the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Iancu was a litigator and managing partner at the firm before being tapped as undersecretary for intellectual property in the Trump administration. In that role he ran one of the largest IP offices in the world, an agency with approximately 13,000 employees and an annual budget of more than $3.5 billion. He was also the principal adviser in the administration on domestic and international IP issues.
