The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Milbank partner Mark Scarsi to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in a 83-12 vote.

The confirmation of Scarsi, the managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office, provides some relief to a judicial vacancy problem on that bench, which the court’s chief judge has called “a crisis of unprecedented magnitude” in a letter to lawmakers.
