Allison Rocker of Baker McKenzie says that witness preparation is the foundation of any case—“the scaffolding that holds everything up.”

Lawyers might hunger for control, but the evidence comes in via the witnesses, says Rocker who trains Baker McKenzie lawyers on advocacy skills and supports them with hearings and trials as a senior knowledge lawyer at the firm. Yesterday she paired with Adam Kendall, the chief deputy district attorney in Boulder, Colorado, for a web presentation sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy on the value of using exhibits throughout the life of a case, including during witness prep for depositions.
