The release of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 (“Windows Blue”) may seem like yesterday to some, but other people are already chomping at the bit for Windows 9. In an entry on FindLaw’s Technologist blog attorney William Peacock explores the pitfalls and positives of the older programs, while giving enthusiasts an idea when the long-awaited Windows 9 will make its debut.

First let’s start with Windows 8. Peacock says much like Windows Vista, Windows 8 contains multiple negatives. “People bemoaned the looks, the missing start menu, the tablet-like interface on desktop computers that was barely usable with a keyboard and mouse, and the multiple personality disorder that manifested itself in the form of dueling interfaces: classic desktop mode for older apps, and the ‘Metro’ tile-based full-screen UI for Windows 8 apps.”
