Despite seeing slight improvements in attorneys’ e-discovery acumen, many U.S. federal courts still consider attorneys unprepared to offer sage e-discovery advice to their clients, according to Exterro’s third annual Federal Judges Survey of 22 federal judges across the United States.

Almost two-thirds (63 percent) of federal judges surveyed did not agree that the “typical attorney” possessed the subject matter knowledge, both legal and technical, to effectively counsel their clients on e-discovery matters.
