Autonomy CEO Mike Lynch is leaving parent company Hewlett-Packard Co. — along with 27,000 other HP employees — officials said Wednesday.

Lynch’s stay at Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP was short. The company, known for its computers and printers, bought Autonomy, which makes search technology, e-discovery, and document management software, for $10 billion in August 2011. The deal closed in October and Autonomy switched its e-discovery products to HP server foundations in November.
