When the throng of 100 million of users or so downloaded Threads, the latest application from Meta, it seems few realized they were agreeing to a fairly uncommon provision.

While the new app falls under Meta’s broader privacy notice, Threads issued its own supplemental privacy policy which introduced the app as a “service provided by Instagram” and therefore tied its deletion capabilities to Instagram.
