Samman and startup DeepJudge, however, argue that the startup's product is "fundamentally different" than Kira's.

Artificial intelligence and contracts review software provider Kira Systems, a subsidiary of Litera since December 2021, is suing its former Vice President of Global Product Kennan Samman for alleged breach of its noncompete and IP and confidentiality agreements. Last month, Samman joined Switzerland-based startup DeepJudge, which offers "AI-powered knowledge search," as its chief revenue officer, according to a July 13 press release from the company.
