In 2009, Ronny Marty came to the U.S. from the the Dominican Republic. It was not, however, a smooth transition. When I got here, things started being really bad. And the journey started changing, not to what I thought at the beginning it was supposed to be. And I didn’t know I was trapped in a human trafficking situation, because at that time, I didn’t know what was human trafficking,” he says in the opening of “On the Merits: Labor Trafficking.”

Marty’s story was featured in the latest installment of Relativity’s ”On the Merits” docuseries, which investigates the role data and technology can play in current events. The current documentary, which debuted at Relativity Fest 2022 in Chicago last week, focuses on how Relativity partner Exiger, in conjunction with the Human Trafficking Institute (HTI), is using e-discovery tools, data and AI to disrupt human labor trafficking in supply chains.
