Local courts need to revamp their technological infrastructure, according to incoming Pennsylvania Bar Association president Jay Silberblatt, and he said he will kickstart the long process of addressing those shortcomings as one of his first moves in his new leadership position.

Silberblatt, a Pittsburgh-based civil litigator with Silberblatt Mermelstein, is set to take over from Kathleen Wilkinson as PBA president May 13 at the organization’s first in-person annual meeting since 2019. He said he has already organized a PBA task force on statewide electronic filing and retrieval, which he will formally announce after he assumes the role.
