Making voluntary disclosures to government agencies was one of the actions in-house counsel who oversee cybersecurity portfolios should consider, according to panelists speaking at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Cybersecurity Summit on Tuesday.

According to the 2020 Association of Corporate Counsel Cybersecurity report, approximately 47% of organizations collaborate with law enforcement to address cybersecurity risks. In a flash poll given to attendees of the ACC’s cyber summit on Tuesday, only 21% of respondents said they have preemptively shared information with the government.
