Former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor heard arguments Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit that centered on an opinion she joined while sitting on the U.S. Supreme Court in 1986.

A class action suit brought against title insurers in New Jersey — captioned In re New Jersey Title Insurance Litigation — was before a panel of three judges, including O’Connor, sitting by designation, and Chief Judge Theodore McKee and Judge Dolores Sloviter.
