Ince Gordon Dadds’ Hong Kong associate firm, Justin Chow & Co, has hired a second partner.

Chan Shun-yin specializes in advising Hong Kong-listed companies on corporate, commercial and compliance matters.

Chan practiced with Hong Kong law firm Chiu & Partners for five years until March 2018. In October, he was appointed as an independent nonexecutive director at Hon Corp. Ltd., a building and infrastructure contractor listed on Hong Kong’s Growth Enterprise Market board for small and medium-sized companies.

Chan is the firm’s second partner in addition to name partner Justin Chow, who also focuses on general corporate and commercial work. The firm also has two consultants.

Legacy Gordon Dadds opened a two-lawyer Hong Kong office last July and entered into an association with Justin Chow & Co. late last year. On Dec. 31, legacy Gordon Dadds acquired Ince & Co in what turned out to be a pared-down takeover where legacy Ince & Co’s Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, Greece and Dubai offices weren’t financially integrated into the newly created Ince Gordon Dadds LLP. These offices have since been operating as members of the Ince Gordon Dadds Network.

Ince Gordon Dadds chief executive Adrian Biles told The Asian Lawyer in November that Justin Chow & Co. will integrate with Ince Gordon Dadds’ Hong Kong office.

Last month, Ince Gordon Dadds, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market, raised £10 million (about $13 million) in order to acquire businesses in half a dozen markets, including Hong Kong and China.
