Trio set to compete for McDermott chairmanship

McDermott Will & Emery is on the verge of electing a new firmwide chairman, with three names currently in the reckoning for the role. The process to replace current chairman Harvey Freishtat is well underway, with a new chair set to be unveiled at the beginning of April. The three names in the running are New York office head Peter Sacripanti, Washington co-head Bobby Burchfield and head of the firm's trial practice Jeffrey Stone. The trio will go head-to-head in a partner vote later this month, after which the chairman-elect will be announced, before officially taking up the role in 2010.
