Practice Profile: Evandro Gigante represents and counsels clients through a variety of labor and employment matters, including allegations of race, gender, national origin, disability and religious discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, defamation and breach of contract. Evandro also counsels employers through reductions-in-force and advises clients on restrictive covenant issues, such as confidentiality, non-compete and non-solicit agreements. He routinely represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Evandro is co-head of Proskauer’s employment litigation and arbitration group, as well as the terminations, reductions in force and WARN act groups. He has co-chaired the firm’s Hispanic/Latino Lawyer Affinity Group, and is a member of the firm’s diversity steering committee. Evandro was chosen to represent Proskauer in the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Fellows program in 2016, the goal of which is to produce a generation of attorneys with strong leadership and relationship skills who are committed to fostering diversity within their individual institutions and professions at large. Evandro has helped a number of NYC charter schools and after-school programs, lending advice on labor and employment law matters. He has served as a board member for Practice Makes Perfect, a summer school operator that matches elementary and middle school scholars with older, high achieving near-peer mentors for the summer.
