Practice Profile: Melanie Figueroa’s experience includes representing companies in connection with securities compliance and regulation matters, corporate financing transactions including private placements, underwritten IPOs and follow-on public offerings, and alternative going public transactions. In addition, she advises clients in connection with the process, procedures and preparation of applications for initiating trading on national securities exchanges, such as the Nasdaq Stock Market and the quotation of securities on the over-the-counter markets.
Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: In 2016, Melanie was appointed managing partner of MSK’s New York office, a role that came with increased administrative responsibility, as well as input into strategic growth plans for the 108-year old firm. She is a member of the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, as well as the hiring, mentoring, and retirement committees. As a member of the diversity committee, she helped develop a new parental leave and part-time policy, and a new associate performance review process. As a member of both the hiring and mentoring committees, she has played an essential role in the firm’s efforts in recruiting talent and training younger associates, particularly in the New York office.
