The board of CBS Corp., already embroiled in a fierce legal battle with its controlling shareholder, on Friday indicated that it would investigate allegations of misconduct against CEO Leslie Moonves in response to a forthcoming article by The New Yorker.

The announcement from the company’s independent directors followed the publication of an article by The Hollywood Reporter, which said that Moonves would be the subject of an expose by The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow, who won a Pulitzer Prize earlier this year for his reporting on Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s alleged pattern of sexual abuse.
