Among the many responsibilities awaiting Delaware’s next governor will be the duty to protect a complex system of law that has made the state, and its courts, a premier place to establish businesses and to litigate the disputes that arise from governing those corporations.

The health of Delaware’s corporate franchise, responsible for generating about one-third of the state’s revenue, is rarely questioned, and it was not a hot topic of discussion in the two gubernatorial debates in the run-up to next week’s election.
