Delaware’s secretary of state on Tuesday touted Delaware’s role as a key player in the development of corporate law, as the First State faces mounting pressures from activists outside the state who are frustrated by a lack of action from federal officials.
Speaking at Widener University Delaware Law School’s Ruby R. Vale Distinguished Speaker Series, Jeffrey W. Bullock said that politicization of corporate law—a phenomenon once centered on Washington, D.C.—has shifted to the First State as gridlock has gripped the nation’s lawmakers and judicial appointments have resulted in a fractured federal judiciary.
