A month before election day, Delaware’s Supreme Court heard argument on cross-appeal of a Chancery finding that same-day voter registration is legal and a universal mail-in voting law is not.

Both the state and the plaintiffs who initially challenged the two statutes asked the court to reverse part of the decision made by Vice Chancellor Nathan Cook in mid-September, with plaintiffs’ attorneys M. Jane Brady of the Brady Legal Group and Julianne Murray of Murray, Phillips & Gay arguing Thursday both statutes should be found unconstitutional and Chief Deputy Attorney General Alexander Mackler arguing neither should be.
