Almost immediately after Gov. John Carney signed into law a bill expanding mail-in voting, two lawsuits were filed in the Court of Chancery, claiming the law conflicts with Delaware’s constitution.

One of those complaints also challenges the new law allowing for same-day voter registration. Both bills in question were signed July 22, the same day the cases were filed, one by M. Jane Brady of Brady Legal Group and the other by Julianne Murray of Murray, Phillips & Gay.
