The Senate Judicial Committee expects to focus heavily on expungement of criminal records in Delaware, with one bill proposing that a 2019 measure be fine-tuned, and a second bill aimed at achieving more sweeping and comprehensive changes.

Committee Chair Darius Brown, D-Wilmington, said he plans to introduce the Clean Slate Act this year, which would automate expungements of certain criminal convictions with the goal of keeping criminal records from standing in the way of people’s employment.
