A group of Athens bars and three University of Georgia students who were bounced from their jobs as a result of a new law forbidding anyone under 21 from entering or working in a bar is challenging the law as unconstitutional.

The complaint, filed by the Athens Association for Constitutional Rights and three individual plaintiffs, said the trio are full-time students who formerly worked as bartenders, doormen and barbacks at Athens bars who were fired from their jobs after “Michael’s Law” was signed by the governor.
