Corporate lawyers John “Sandy” Smith and Lou Barbieri have joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton as partners from Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Smith. The two, who have practiced together for almost a decade, are joining Kilpatrick’s mergers and acquisitions and securities team.
Smith counsels businesses and their boards, advising Fortune 500 middle-market companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies. Barbieri advises companies in the tech, health care and retail industries in financing, acquisitions and sales, often from formation to exit, and counsels them on compliance issues.
