The ethics hearings for Jeffrey Clark, a former Department of Justice lawyer who aided in former President Donald Trump’s efforts to subvert the 2020 election results and is among the defendants in the Fulton County RICO case, began Tuesday with ex-DOJ official Richard Donoghue testifying about allegedly false statements Clark wrote in a draft letter intended for the Georgia General Assembly.

Clark has been charged with attempting to engage in conduct involving dishonesty and conduct interfering with the administration of justice over the letter he pressed his superiors to send. The letter stated that the DOJ had “significant concerns” that potentially affected Georgia’s election.
