Georgia’s legal offices are forming teams again this year in advance of the 13th annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy and pushing for donations before the eight-day competition to be held April 15-26. The law school competition, held earlier in the spring not to interfere with finals exams, wrapped up its drive with a 40% jump in contributions, garnering more than $35,100 or about 140,000 meals.

Nearly half of the law students’ donations were raised by Mercer University School of Law, which won the Grand Prize Attorney General’s Law School Cup, the Georgia food bank organization Feeding Georgia said in a press release Wednesday. The proceeds, $15,000, from Mercer’s team went to Middle Georgia Community Food Bank.
