Ford Motor Co. and 41 states have reached a $19.2 million settlement in a class action lawsuit that was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in February 2012.

The settlement, which is pending court approval, stems from claims that the manufacturer lied about the real-world fuel economy of model year 2013-2014 C-Max hybrids and the payload capacity of model year 2011-2014 Super Duty pickup trucks. The plaintiff class argued that Ford inflated the fuel economy ratings of its vehicles and knowingly deceived customers.
