In its final oral argument of 2021, the Georgia Court of Appeals heard arguments debating whether immunity under a federal statute should have protected an Atlanta operator of assisted-living facilities from being sued after a resident died from COVID-19 on the premises.

An intermediate appellate panel made up of Presiding Judge Sara Doyle, Senior Judge Herbert Phipps and Judge Clyde Reese gathered at the Nathan Deal Judicial Center in Atlanta Thursday to hear attorneys on either side argue in Arbor Management Services LLC v. Carlos Hendrix et. al.
