Civil rights leaders challenging a new Georgia voting law are celebrating an order from a federal judge allowing the litigation to go forward.

“We are encouraged by the Court’s decision to proceed with the challenge against Georgia’s anti-voter law (SB 202),” ACLU of Georgia voting rights staff attorney Rahul Garabadu said in a written statement. “The court rejected every single one of the defendants’ arguments to dismiss our lawsuit. Georgia’s anti-voter law makes it harder to vote for Georgia’s citizens of color and citizens with disabilities, and we look forward to continuing to fight this law in court.”
