Two Georgia organizations are celebrating National Celebration of Pro Bono Week (Oct. 24-30) by praising the work of the Freedom Expungement Project, which has provided free services to help individuals in 15 counties clear their criminal records of minor charges.

The Georgia Justice Project (GJP) and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) have partnered on the project. Since being launched July 1, it has recruited 50 volunteer criminal defense attorneys and expects to increase that number.
