General Electric was sued Thursday in Georgia Northern District Court in connection with an Oct. 2019 incident at the Hadjret En Nouss Power Plant located in Algeria. The lawsuit, brought by Kennedys CMK and Fields Howell LLP on behalf of various insurers, reinsurers and retrocessionaires, contends that the incident resulted from a defective gas blade manufactured by GE and seeks to recover more than $28 million in damages. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:21-cv-04303, Various Insurers, Reinsurers, Retrocessionaires v. General Electric International, Inc. et al.
