In a 16-tweet sound off, Shamp Jordan Woodward partner and Georgia state Sen. Jen Jordan, D-Atlanta, reupped her bid for state attorney general, after the U.S. Supreme Court failed to take action before Texas’ six-week ban on abortions went into effect Wednesday, putting the law on the books.

Fueled by the uncertainty surrounding when the federal high court will rule on a request from Texas abortion providers to block the measure, Jordan braced for the worst from her Republican counterparts in the Peach State, now that the Texas law will allow private individuals to sue abortion providers and others who help women obtain abortions.
