A new chief justice for the Georgia Supreme Court will be sworn in at 3 p.m. Thursday in the House of Representatives chamber.

Presiding Justice David Nahmias will become chief justice, replacing Harold Melton. Wednesday will be the last day on the job for Melton, who will give the oath to Nahmias and to Justice Michael Boggs, who will replace Nahmias as presiding justice, the count announced Tuesday.
